Some old rockers are still kicking

It's okay for rock superstars to go around singing about how "rock 'n' roll is here to stay," or "rock 'n' roll will never die," but they've all made so much money they probably wouldn't care if it did die. The real commitment to the music comes from the rock 'n' roll survivors, those groups who have been out there for years, paying the bills by producing rock but never achieving superstardom.

Six such groups make up. this album survey a tribute to arid recognition of new albums from rock 'n' roll survivors who began in the 1960s, weathered the 1970s, and are still with us in the 1980s.
The Paducah Sun (March 20, 1981)
"Say No More" Badlinger (Radio Records).
This was one of the very first Beatle-clone bands, and they are still remaining true to the Fab Four's early sounds on this, their latest Beatle pastiche album. Not as good as Todd Rundgren's Beatle tribute, or as funny as the Ruttles, Badfinger still manages to preserve the spirit well.

"Love Melodies" The Searchers (Sire Records)
"Border Wave" Sir Douglas Quintet (Takoma Records)
"Great American Music" The Good Rats (Great American Records-Jem)
"Butt Rockin'." The . Fabulous Thunderbirds (Chrysalis Records)
"Tiddly Winks" NRBQ (Rounder Records)
