"We used to come up with a hundred names every day," states Tommy, "then hone it down to 20 and give them to Derek Taylor at Apple to decide. The Beatles had 'Lady Madonna' out and that was a direct rip off of Humphrey Lyttelton's record 'Bad Penny Blues'. So Neil Aspinall said, 'What about Bad Penny?' Then someone said Badfinger and we figured that was as good as any."
