[Badfinger & Wish You Were Here] Expanded and Remastered reissues (Nov 2, 2018)

[twitter][twitter

Now, Real Gone Music, together with Badfinger biographer Dan Matovina, is taking a fresh look at Badfinger’s brilliant but ill-fated Warner Bros. albums, Badfinger and Wish You Were Here.  It’s the first time the original album’s been remastered (by Matovina from the original master tapes) since its maiden release on CD, while Matovina’s notes include fresh quotes from original producer Chris Thomas!

On November 2, Real Gone Music will release two expanded and remastered reissues of those two Warner Brothers releases.

Badfinger (the album), will deliver the original album and add in ten bonus tracks, most being “works in progress”. One of the songs, “Love My Lady” is an outtake from the original recording sessions.

“Oh Wow” was recorded at Olympic studios with Chris Thomas producing.  It was one of several new ideas Tommy brought to those sessions.  I think we were working on the first Warner Brothers record so it would have to be late summer 1973, I think.  We did “Love is Easy” at the same time.  --- Joey

Pete Ham ( of Badfinger ) Memorial - Flowers - 4-27-18
Today, April 27, 2018, marks the birthdate of Pete Ham of Badfinger. I stopped by his Memorial stone at the Morrison Crematorium to put some flowers in his memory and on behalf of his daughter, Petera and her mother, Anne.

The legendary show that The Iveys/Badfinger future manager, Bill Collins taped in their hometown to study and decide if the band was ready for a professional career based in London, England.

Mightily impressed, Collins convinced the young men's parents to let them give up apprenticeships to pursue their dreams.

Pete Ham, Ron Griffiths, David Jenkins and Mike Gibbins comprise of this excellent band, of which you will hear some samples here. Just teenagers at the time, except for David, who was 20, the band is super-tight and on fire.

They were destined to become the legendary Badfinger !

If this project sells all of it's limited edition, more CDs of other music should be in line for fans to study the origins of Badfinger. That would be the musical legacy of The Iveys, from 1966-69.

Thanks to Ron Griffths of The Iveys for setting this project in motion.

[2017] Origins: The Iveys Anthology, Vol. 1 Live at The Empire: June 7, 1966

Ron Griffiths

Hello friends of The Iveys . I am delighted to finally announce on the 50th anniversary of our supporting the legendary trio " Cream " gig that I am able to make available for you the long awaited live gig recorded by the late Bill Collins . It took place in Neath - South Wales on June 7th 1966 . After receiving a 'green light' to set up its purchase , a limited edition c.d. can be ordered at this link .

Cited on the CD as - Badfinger Origins : 'The Iveys ' ( in order to disassociate from the American band The Iveys - who have the U.S. trademark on the name ) . They will shipped out of U.S.A , as I can not accommodate the burden myself.

Here is the link to order:

I want to thank you all in advance for being so patient
