Bobby Dean Wickland は1981年7月に Boy というバンドを結成するが、すぐに Then drummer Bobby Dean Wickland got the call to join the reunited group: badfinger and had to leave. 
 
Scooters の二人をまとめて採用かと思っていたけど、Larry Lee が先に採用されて、その伝手で Bobby Dean Wickland (またはその逆の順序) も、って感じなのかも。

1982年5月7日金曜日のナイトクラブ出演後、ツアーバスからマリファナ200gが発見され、不法所持でそのまま逮捕。 Joey やロードマネージャーを含む4人は11日火曜日に罰金250ドルを払って釈放。 残り二人も12日水曜日には釈放される見込み。
 
[Paul McCartney の成田空港での現行犯逮捕の2年4ヶ月後の] 1982年5月のことらしい。この Badfinger は Joey 以外は David Ted Turner が前年に作った Choice というバンドのメンバーだが Bobby Dean Wickland (ex-Scooters) だけは、81年暮のツアーにも Joe Tansin, Larry Lee (ex-Scooters) とともに参加していた。

1971   Ted receives call for a late session to play acoustic guitar for John Lennon, on the Imagine album (Crippled Inside) with George and Ringo. 
1981   Formed new band called ”Choice", it featured Greg Cook (guitars, keyboards, and vocals), Robbie Hewlett (bass guitar), and Bobby Dean Wickland (drums). 
1982   Ted joined the re-formed "Badfinger" and toured the country with them.  
 
 
同じ頃、Tom Evans の Badfinger もツアーの準備をしていて、Mike Gibbins と Bob Jackson の参加は決定し、guitar だけ決まっていなかった。そこで6月14日に Joey に声をかけたが応じず、 結局 Adam Allen が採用された。

MONROE, La. - Two members of the rock group Badfinger remained jailed after pleading guilty to marijuana charges yesterday, four days after the entire band was arrested. 
 
The six men were arrested Friday night after a night club appearance when police found about seven ounces of marijuana aboard their tour bus, said District Attorney Johnny Carl Parkerson. They were booked for possession with intent to sell and held in lieu of $5,000 bond. 
 
Their lawyer, Steven Hansen, said all six simple possession. He said four were released after paying $250 plus court costs, while two remained in the Ouachita Parish Jail. 
 
Hansen said he expected the release Wednesday of the two musicians still in jail. They were identified as Andre L. McDougall of Rancho Mirage, Calif., and Robert G. Hewlett, 24, of San Diego. 
 
Badfinger was the first band signed by the Beatles' Apple Records. Their hits included "Baby Blue," "Day After Day" and "If You Want It, Here It Is."

Lifesong レーベルの最初のバンド Crack The Sky のリーダー John Palumbo がソロ・アルバムを作りたいと申し出た時、レーベルはそんなに乗り気ではなかったけど、 Palumbo がプロデューサーを自分で見つけてくるならバックアップはします ということだったようです。  
それで、 Palumbo も後から考えればかなり無謀だったと言ってるけど そんなに深く考えずに、 George Martin にデモ・テープを送ってプロデュースを依頼してみたら、自分はできないから と Tom Jones や Gerry and The Pacemakers をプロデュースした Peter Sullivan を 紹介してくれたらしい。
