Used with permission from Bud Becker. This tape contains phone calls between booking agents from December 1972 discussing Badfinger concert dates for February 9th and 10th, 1973. The argument centers around whether Badfinger agreed to play 2 shows on February 9th at Frostberg State College in Cumberland, Maryland. A very revealing moment occurs when it is revealed that Badfinger's manager, manager, Stan Polley, changed the arrangements. Badfinger did play the show on February 9, 1973.
These recordings offer a glimpse of the mess behind Badfinger's business dealings, and more broadly, reveal a powerful lesson in the music business and a behind-the-scenes look at the dynamic between artists, managers, and promoters. I purchased these discs off ebay many years ago from Bud Becker and thought they were worth sharing with the world.
