１枚のアルバムで、Without You と Day After Day を同時にカバーしているっていうのは、karaoke系とBadfinger Tribute系以外でも複数あるけど、それは同時期にヒットしていた曲をカバーしたってことで、カバーした人も、作者が同じ人だとは思っていないのかも。

この２曲が同時にヒットチャート上位に来ていたというのも、収録アルバムがNo Dice と Straight Up で1年の差があると Badfingerファンは考えてしまうので、あまり気づいてないんじゃないかなぁ。

これ以前の所属レコード会社では、表記が
Casanova 7 / カサノヴァセッテだったんだけど、Mercuryでは
Cazanova 7 / カサノバセッテになっているのはわざとなのか？
これ以降も Casanova 7 でやってるみたいなんだけど。

リーダーの Bruno Dalla Pozza (piano) は、ヒデとロザンナのロザンナの叔父で、東京オリピック(1964)開会式の演奏に選抜されて来日。
[当時、クラシックのピアニストで作曲家だった。にしても、なんでイタリア人が東京で？]
[前回開催がローマだから、引き継ぎみたいなのがあるのかなぁ？]
その後、Casanova 7 を編成。67年秋には17歳になったばかりのロザンナを日本に呼び寄せている。

「そんなころ、東京で演奏活動をしていた叔父から手紙が届きました。ピアノ弾きの叔父はカサノバ・セッティというバンドを結成、マスターでした。当時、叔父のバンドは港区赤坂のナイトクラブ「月世界」に出演中。メンバーを何度か代えていましたが女性ボーカルを入れようということになり、私の歌を聴いたことのある叔父が推薦してくれたのです」ロザンナ

東京オリンピックで来日した Bruno Dalla Pozza は柔道の試合をテレビで初めて見て、興味を持ち講道館へ行って、柔道を見学。その時指導してくれたのが小谷澄之九段(当時)。結局そのまま入門して 12年間で四段まで上達したらしい。
[1926年生まれなので、38歳から始めたことになる] [12年って、1976年まで日本にいたってことかなぁ？]

この演奏がいつだかわからないんだけど、 Flavio Zambon (ロザンナの兄。1994～5年に亡くなっている) がいるので、70年代なのかなぁ。 Casanova 7 in Tokyo/Japan, recorded at the Getzekai club. って書いてある。月世界クラブ？

日本を撤退した Casanova 7 は、一旦イタリアで再編成してハワイ・グアムそして米本土・カナダのクラブやホテルを回って解散のようです。解散といっても、Bruno Dalla Pozza がサイパンに移住して、そこのホテルなどで Casanova 7 の名前で活動していたようです。演奏の他にも、柔道を指導したり、地元のカレッジで音楽を教えたりといった生活。

誰かが後から本家Badfingerに修正したのか？放送されたのは Joey の方だと思うんだけど。
[TV放送時は Joey の Day After Day (1994)で、DVD発売時に Badfinger の Day After Day (1971) に差し替えられたらしい]

Each Iveys member introduces themselves saying their age, where they are from, where they live and the instrument they play.
Mike the drummer states he was playing since he was 13.
They talk how Mal Evans saw them at the Marquee Club in London,
he tried to sign the Iveys to Apple Records.
Pete says he writes melodic songs.

Have you met the Beatles?
Yeah, we were in a recording studio doing a few sessions, Mal bought Paul to the studio.
Then Paul played Mikes drums, he played us a song he and John had just written and we didn't know how to take it. It's called "Hey Jude."
And he was singing away and playing on it. It was awesome.

Mike:
I said yeah, can I have your autograph? So he gave me his autograph on my nose.

Then they go to talk about playing live in Germany (1967/10/16-11/15 The Storyville Club, Cologne) and Italy (1968/06/15-06/30 Ye Ye Club, Rimini.)
They then talk about wanting to visit South Africa and Pete finishing off the record with We Wish You A Merry Christmas song.
