In 1971, Tommy Evans and I were playing in Badfinger and signed to Apple. ‘No Dice’, ‘No Matter What’ and ‘Come And Get It’ had been hits and we were about to tour the world. #IMAGINE50 #timstwitterlisteningparty

Tommy and I played acoustic guitars on George Harrison's All Things Must Pass album, and George recommended us to John. #IMAGINE50 #timstwitterlisteningparty

John came into the studio and played us ‘Jealous Guy’. We had brought our acoustics; mine a Gibson J50 and Tommy’s a Martin D41. We ran through the song once or twice, all very simple and natural. Tommy suggested a significant chord – a minor 9th or 6th. #IMAGINE50

Yoko suggested it needed an intro, which Nicky Hopkins came up with, and played so beautifully. #IMAGINE50 #timstwitterlisteningparty

After we recorded about three takes of ‘Jealous Guy’, John jokingly said, ‘You can fuck off now!’ But we didn’t want to. And it didn’t seem like he was throwing us out. So we stayed and played on ‘I Don’t Wanna Be A Soldier’, too. #IMAGINE50 #timstwitterlisteningparty

It was one of the thrills of my life, having headphones on and John Lennon sitting five feet away, playing with us. The whole thing was magic. It was a magic thing that he had. The room got warmer when he was in it. #IMAGINE50 #timstwitterlisteningparty pic.twitter.com/f6NyJ1yuCF

#TimsTwitterListeningParty # John said he didn't think acoustics would work on I don't wanna be a soldier but we played along anyway, that ended up being what we got credit for doing, I was amazed they gave us any credit at all, Photos on the album too, incredible
